Job Description

Quantech has an immediate opening for senior Systems Engineer supporting the The Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNC) located at Lackland AFB, TX. HNC provides life cycle management for information assurance and other critical systems. The division’s primary mission is cyberspace support. HNC is responsible for technology development, acquisition, sustainment, and demilitarization of cyber security systems or products that provide mission assurance by ensuring warfighter access to the information systems and its products, while denying adversaries access to the same. The division also provides product support to other critical Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD), and national force protection and intelligence systems required by the nation to mobilize, deploy, support, and sustain operations. AFLCMC/HNC is organized into 10 branches spread across multiple facilities in the San Antonio, TX, metropolitan area. The Contractor shall perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of system engineering to the acquisition process. The individual shall be able to:
• Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications.
• Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications.
• Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles.
• Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems.
• Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight.
• Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force SEAM processes.
• Capable of performing: problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, “Set based design” for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis (MODA) and cost versus capability trade off analysis.
• Capable of implementing Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across system Lifecycle.

The engineer must possess the experience to specialize in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions that span both software and system architectures. With a deep understanding of agile SW software development, cloud infrastructure, and systems design, the candidate will drive the development of complex, integrated environments that support the organization's IT and business needs.

Job Requirements
  • Active Top Secret/SCI required
  • Bachelors Degree in System Engineering or Computer Science
  • Experience providing engineering support to product based acquisition and fielding efforts. 
  • Possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline.
  • MA/MS with 12 Years of experience in the respective discipline being performed, of which 5 years must be in the DoD or BA/BS with 15 Yrs exp and 5 in DoD.

Salary Range: $115,000
